Source: OPEC+ monitoring committee prepares draft oil cut quotas

MOSCOW, Apr 8 (PRIME) -- The OPEC+ monitoring committee has already prepared draft quotas to reduce oil output, and OPEC Secretary General Mohammed Barkindo will discuss readiness of the states late on Wednesday, a source familiar with the OPEC secretariat’s preparations to the meeting told PRIME.

“The monitoring committee’s draft on the quotas is ready. It is being kept as a top secret, the details will be discussed tomorrow. This evening, OPEC’s secretary General Mohammed Barkindo is to hold telephone conversations with some countries of the format, he will discuss their readiness to the reduction and their suggestions. Finally, everything will be disclosed tomorrow,” the source said.

The OPEC+ states are to hold an online conference to discuss a new reduction deal on Thursday, and the energy ministers of the G20 countries are to discuss stability of the energy markets on Friday. A source familiar with OPEC+ discussions told PRIME previously that a final decision of the alliance would depend on the results of negotiations of the G20 ministers.
